The Historic Outdoor Art Museum was founded in January of 1996 for the purpose of enhancing the downtown historic district and teaching local history through art for locals and visitors alike. As a 501(c) (3) organization, our mission is to instill the belief that historic outdoor murals and public art can “unite business and art to revitalize and generate economic diversification of the
Historic Downtown District.”


Murals teach history through educational field trips.

Educational presentations to local schools, clubs and organizations.

Murals have been incorporated into transit and visitor tours to the city of New
Braunfels.

Extensive local & state-wide media coverage promoting museum art, history and
heritage.

Continued acquisition of outdoor canvases and historic motifs to expand and
enhance the vision of the Historic Outdoor Art Museum.
